Job Description:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Subject Matter Expert (SME) in AP Computer Science Principles to join our remote team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AP Computer Science Principles curriculum, assessment frameworks, and instructional methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review assessment items and questions for AP Computer Science Principles exams, ensuring alignment with AP course standards and objectives.
  • Create challenging and comprehensive questions that assess students' understanding of computer science concepts, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers and content developers to design assessment materials that adhere to best practices in educational assessment and promote student learning.
  • Stay updated on developments and updates in AP Computer Science Principles curriculum and assessment guidelines to ensure materials are current and relevant.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to team members on assessment design, content, and alignment with AP course objectives.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions to contribute expertise and insights on AP Computer Science Principles education and assessment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master s or Ph.D. preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience teaching AP Computer Science Principles or developing educational materials for the course.
  • Strong knowledge of AP Computer Science Principles curriculum, assessment frameworks, and content standards.
  • Experience in assessment design, including creating multiple-choice questions, performance tasks, and coding exercises.
  • Familiarity with educational standards, instructional strategies, and assessment best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in assessment materials.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
