Our government client is looking for an experienced Project Manager on a hybrid 12+ months renewable contract role in Richmond, VA.
Position – Project Manager | HYBRID
W2 RATE - $80/hr
hybrid on-site/telework (3 days in the office).
Job description:
The Project Manager will report directly to the Project Management Office (PMO) Director and lead multiple, complex IT initiatives within the modular Medicaid Enterprise System (MES).
The Project Manager will initiate, plan, execute, monitor/control, and close projects as assigned and in accordance with state/federal regulations and industry best practices. The Project Manager will propose innovative solutions and business process improvements, manage project risks and issues, work independently within the PMO structure, and curate project organizational process assets and reports.
The incumbent will also provide counsel and advice to the PMO Director on all operational issues within PMO including, but not limited to staffing, contracts, meetings, and process improvements. The position will ensure streamlined activities within PMO based on the priorities of the Director and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) including ensuring project deadlines are met and technical/operational issues are elevated and resolved when necessary.
The candidate will interact and coordinate with all levels of agency, including with external vendors, federal partners, and oversight entities.
Required/Desired Experience:
- 10 Years of Exp with Agile and Waterfall software development concepts Required
- 10 Years of Exp with sr level Project Management practices and principles; Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) Required
- 10 Years of Exp with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Required
- 10 Years of Experience with successfully leading project teams through implementations, including at least one successfully led project of $1M or higher. Required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Required
- MITA Architecture Desired
- 5 Years of Vendor management and contract oversight Highly desired
- 5 Years of Working knowledge of Advance Planning Document (APD) process for obtaining federal grants from CMS Highly desired
- 10 Years of Knowledge of/experience with MS Project, including creating, managing, analyzing, and reportion on integrated project schedules Highly desired
- 5 Years of Working knowledge of or experience with Medicaid and/or other health claims processing systems Highly desired
- Health information exchanges and system interoperability Highly desired
