Oracle DBA - Performance and Tuning
Madison Ave, NY and Jersey City, NJ
4 days a week onsite work mandatory (Local candidates ONLY)
Contract to hire - No work visa sponsorship at this time
Financial Industry experience is a MUST
Education
- Bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited college in the US
Skills Requirement
- 10+ years experience in working in an IT services organization.
- At least 8+ years of Oracle Database experience
- Knowledge and understanding of the ITIL process.
- In client-facing roles (s) for at least 3 years.
- Excellent documentation skills in MS SharePoint 2010 /2013
Mandatory skills Oracle administration required skills.
- Performance tuning on Oracle databases.
- Oracle DBA with experience in large and critical environments.
- Exceptional Knowledge of performance tuning at both server level and query level. Candidate must have knowledge of OEM, AWR Reports, and TKProf.
- Good Knowledge of Oracle internals.
- Good Knowledge of Oracle partitioning.
- Must have automation experience. Good knowledge of scripting. Ability to write PL-SQL scripts, Shell.
- Firsthand experience with RAC.
Good to have skills
- Experience with Golden Gate
- Experience with OUD, Database Vault, and Database Encryption in transit and at rest
Certifications Desired
- Oracle certifications

- Ability to think about a problem, identify what we have, and implement solutions to solve the problem independently.
- Work with the onsite client team / Application owners in the US / UK to tune Oracle databases.
- Need to be able to work with application groups and independently of the database group.
- Proactively tune databases.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think in and out of the box. Produce service improvement ideas and innovative solutions.
- Initiative-taking, conscientious individual who works equally well independently or as a team member.
- Must be willing to take responsibility and ownership of work.
- Enable and support the team in resolving day-to-day production issues.
- Work on Change implementations during UK and US business hours & weekends as per the change management process
- Documentation & Operational performance reporting
- Own Service Improvements
- Execute on-demand IT projects.
- Drive compliance with client and organization processes and policies
- Ensure the Quality of deliverables
