Responsibilities:
- Enhance the current functionality of the DB engine
- Contribute high-quality C++ code and provide feedback in code reviews to ensure best practices
- Develop in-memory and on-disk data structures and algorithms, focusing on graphs, networking, query optimization and execution
- Identify, design, implement, test, and support new features
- Tune database performance to optimize critical workloads
- Reduce Total cost of ownership by optimizing recurring memory usage
- Improve system stability through proactive measures and optimizations
Required Qualifications:
- Passion for designing and optimizing large-scale distributed storage systems
- Experience in Linux system-level development using the latest C++ standards
- In-depth C++ knowledge (standard library, STL containers, templating, memory management in non-garbage collected environments)
- Hands-on experience in implementing database internals
- In-depth understanding of databases (lock-free programming, lock-free data structures, interpreters and compilers, template metaprogramming, distributed computing)
- Solid understanding of graph theory
- Experience in mentoring engineers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field
