Job Title: Product Design FEA Engineer
Duration: 4 Months Contract with possible extension
Location: Cupertino, CA
Hybrid (Tuesday, Wednesday, thursday onsite, Monday and Friday flexible)
Job Summary:
As a Contract Product Design FEA Engineer, you will use understanding of mechanics, materials and numerical methods to play a key role in predictive engineering and directly impact the success of new Client products.
You will drive the structural design of our new products using predictive system level finite element simulation: That will include participating in building and running system level models for important design load cases and interacting closely with the cross functional design teams to iterate and improve our designs.
Responsibilities:
Setting up and running simple to complex system FEA simulations.
Post-processing large amounts of simulations.
Summarizing and presenting FEA simulation results to Product Design Engineers.
Providing recommendations for design improvements and iterating on the design quickly & collaboratively.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in Abaqus, implicit and explicit finite element analysis (FEA).
Strong knowledge of solid mechanics.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration and written and verbal communication skills.
Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with passion for creating cutting edge products.
MS in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or similar discipline required along with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ANSA and META.
Experience with system level modeling and simulation.
Experience in IC packaging, board level solder joint reliability, shock & thermal cycling.
Experience with the mechanical behavior of materials and constitutive modeling.
