As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, Consumer Card Technology team, you will be instrumental in an agile setting, dedicated to developing, innovating, and deploying state-of-the-art technology solutions that prioritize security, stability, and scalability.

Job responsibilities
  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, testing, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Develops, debugs, and maintains secure high-quality code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages; knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies and experience with testing including requirements, test planning, scripting, execution and analysis; experience/exposure to cloud testing/best practices
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification of software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability within a cloud environment (AWS)
  • Practical cloud native experience in AWS
  • Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes (EKS)
  • Experience with migrating functionality from legacy systems into modern architecture
  • Expertise in automated testing and continuous delivery ideologies
  • Proficient understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Advanced understanding of Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within distributed cloud deployments and cloud native architectures
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Experience communicating technical directives at all levels from executive to associate

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Terraform to define and deploy cloud infrastructure
  • AWS Aurora Postgres, DynamoDB, EKS, EC2, CloudWatch
  • Experience diebold transaction manager
