Network Engineer

Description

Robert Half is searching for Network Engineer to support a construction company based in Seattle, WA. This Network Engineer will have a main focus of tackling upcoming projects as well as day to day operations. This position is a 12 month contract with the potential to extend and is Hybrid in Seattle, WA (2 days onsite).

Job Details:

Duration: 12 months contract

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM

Location: Hybrid - 2 days onsite / 3 days remote

Job Duties:

• Collaborate as part of a 3-person Networking team, contributing to both upcoming projects and ongoing network operations.
• Deploy, and support HPE/Aruba network solutions, including switching, wireless, ClearPass, and Aruba Central.
• Support the deployment of SD-WAN/SASE solutions to enhance connectivity, scalability, and security.
• Configure and deploy dynamic routing protocols to optimize enterprise network performance, resilience, and operations.
• Enhance data center security by developing and deploying network traffic visibility solutions, including application dependency mapping and micro-segmentation.
• Perform Layer 2/VLAN design and configuration across multiple data centers to ensure efficient and reliable connectivity.
• Provide troubleshooting and support for day-to-day network operations, ensuring high availability and performance.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Network Engineer with current enterprise environment level experience in the following -

• Knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and how to improve network performance and resiliency.
• Experience with firewalls, including setup, maintenance, and working with security teams on policies and threat prevention.
• Strong understanding of switching technologies (LACP, VLANs, STP, HA) to improve performance and security.
• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot wireless networks (signal strength, authentication issues, etc.).
• Experience with Network Access Control (NAC), especially EAP-TLS authentication with RADIUS.
• Familiarity with Azure networking (vNets, VPN, Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall, DNS, Load Balancers).
• Experience managing SSL certificates and private Certificate Authorities.
• Understanding of network security best practices, including zero trust, segmentation, and least privilege.
