Teradata DBA
Scope:
The Teradata Database Administrator plays a significant role in the design, implementation and maintenance of production databases and data dictionaries in compliance with application specifications.
In addition, this position monitors daily database activities and overall performance, growth and tuning configurations as well as the security of the database.
MUST HAVE SKILLS
Overall 7+ years of experience in Teradata Database Administration experience
Strong hands-on experience working with Teradata tools and utilities.
Knowledge of Architecture Principles, Design Patterns, and Implementation Alternatives
Experienced in performance optimization techniques and SQL tuning.
Ability to write complex Teradata SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, functions.
Good knowledge of UNIX scripting and TWS experience
Strong hands-on experience in TASM workload setup, Reporting (Power BI).
Highly motivated and team-oriented
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
Assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of Teradata databases in Development, Testing, and Production environments.
Create users, establish roles, creates database structures (Table creations and Table View creations)
Work closely with the development groups on database design and implementation projects.
Maintain backup and recovery plans
Be part of an on-call rotation providing 24x7 support
Monitors database statistics and other application specific parameters to maintain performance of the system.
Unix scripting and TWS experience
A motivated individual with excellent communication skills
Experience with Microsoft BI, Informatica, SAS and Golden Gate applications would be a plus.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
