Note: Candidates must be CURRENT WI residents. No relocation is allowed. DWD is currently allowing remote work from within the state of Wisconsin. The contractor must be available online, be present to meet all workload requirements, and must attend all scheduled meetings during DWD standard working hours of 7.45 am 4.30 pm Central Time. DWD can make changes or modifications to this arrangement with a reasonable advance notice
NOTE: DWD prefers that the selected hire resides in the greater Madison area. The contractor must be available to work onsite in DWD Madison WI headquarters GEF-1 location at DWD's request, including consecutive weekdays or extended periods, without reimbursement for travel, lodging, or parking expenses.

Brief Project Description:
- This is a technical leadership position needed to drive the development and support of the Unemployment Division modernization projects. The projects are but not limited to technical refresh of legacy system, enhancement to Claimant and Employer portals, new functionality as defined by bussiness partners, and upgrade of infrastructure (servers, tools and database) to support UI systems.
- Project work will include: application architecture design and development, development of user stories, quarterly planning strategies, product roadmaps, and other key strategic deliverables; selection and review of on premise and cloud tools and technology; code reviews and work item reviews to ensure that they meet the department's technical objectives and are compliant with required security requirements; and in-the-weeds development using a variety of languages and tools.
- Successful candidates will have demonstrated success in designing, creating, and maintaining web services, system integration, web development, highly complex online transaction processing (OLTP) and Agile Scrum development methodology.
