The Senior AI Engineer will lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge AI solutions, including large language models (LLMs) and advanced machine learning (ML) systems. This role requires expertise in operationalizing AI/ML models at scale, driving software development initiatives, and leading efforts to integrate AI technologies into clinical, operational, and business workflows. The Senior AI Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and contribute to Mercy's vision of personalized, predictive, and proactive care.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: 4 years of experience in AI/ML development and software engineering, with demonstrated success in deploying production-grade AI solutions.
  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Other:
  • Experience mentoring team members or leading technical initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++ for AI/ML development.
  • Expertise with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
  • Strong skills in NLP, LLM fine-tuning, and prompt engineering.
  • Experience with agentic AI design or orchestration tools (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Solid database experience (SQL/NoSQL) for structured and unstructured data.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Experience with MLOps, distributed computing (e.g., Databricks, Spark), and microservices.
  • Familiarity with explainability tools, responsible AI practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Track record of delivering AI applications that provide measurable business or clinical impact.
