Position Overview
The Senior Test Engineer is responsible for executing test and measurement activities on products, components, and related materials. This includes maintaining accurate documentation, generating reports, and coordinating with engineering teams to prepare products for additional testing when needed. The role requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work in a dynamic lab environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing on digital, analog, and mixed-signal electronic circuits. Tasks may involve soldering and attaching thermocouples to board-level components.
  • Execute validation testing across electrical, mechanical, environmental, FCC, IEC, and IEEE requirements to support third-party verification.
  • Use specialized test equipment such as goniophotometers, integrating spheres, or equivalent instrumentation to perform optical, electrical, or performance-related measurements as required by relevant standards.
  • Maintain an organized lab workspace aligned with 5S principles and adapt workflows to improve efficiency and throughput.
  • Use Lean tools and KPI metrics to monitor lab performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop new test methods and supporting documentation based on applicable standards (UL, CSA, ANSI, IEC) and internal requirements.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment, including recordkeeping for audits and compliance.
  • Train lab technicians and support personnel on test procedures and lab practices.
  • Create or refine automated test setups using LabVIEW or a comparable platform.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field; or at least 2 years of experience in an ISO 17025-accredited testing laboratory.
  • Experience with testing electronic systems is strongly encouraged.
  • Proficiency in LabVIEW or similar test-automation software is required.
  • Experience with applicable safety or performance standards (such as UL924 or similar) is highly desirable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Training is provided for role-specific tools and processes.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform medium-duty work, including lifting up to 40 pounds as needed.
