Field Applications Engineer (Board Level) for Global Semiconductor Company in San Jose, California Summary:
Seeking Technical Field Applications Engineer for Global Semiconductor company working with Ethernet Product lines. These products include AI/ML scale up/scale out, Service Provider, Enterprise, and SMB switches, Ethernet Physical layer device (GE/10GigE/40G/100G/400G/800G/Optical). You will be working with Cloud and Networking OEMs on leading edge industry standard switch silicon (XGS and DNX) family.
Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the technical Field Applications Engineer (Board Level) throughout the full design cycle, from pre-sales through to production.
  • Board Design: schematics, layout reviews, bring-up, and hardware characterization.
  • Support chipset evaluations and troubleshooting across multiple design stages.
  • Heavy interaction with layouts, design reviews, and debugging.
  • Handle high-speed signal interfaces: 10G/40G/100G/400G.
  • Perform hands-on bring-up and debugging of prototypes and evaluation boards.
  • Implement features using diagnostic shell and low-level register programming.
  • Replicate customer issues in lab environments using test equipment.
  • Deliver customer demos, set up eval boards in customer labs.
  • Present product roadmaps and technical content to customer teams.
  • Provide product feedback to marketing and factory applications teams.
  • Collaborate closely with field sales to drive design wins and customer success.
  • Track and report customer program progress.

Required Skillset: 

  • 6+ years in board-level hardware design, schematic capture, and bring-up.
  • Strong understanding of system-level architecture and Ethernet networking concepts.
  • Experience with any of these (AI/ML scale-up/scale-out switches, Service Provider switches, Enterprise switches or SMB switches.)
  • Experience with FPGA logic (writing and reading).
  • Experience with high-speed signaling (10G–800G).
  • Familiar with evaluation board setup, validation, and customer lab support.
  • Excellent communicator who thrives in cross-functional environments.
  • Degree: BSEE or MSEE

Location: San Jose, California (100% On-Site)

Compensation: $150K - $225K/Y (DOE) + Bonus and RSU's
