Job Title - Oracle PBCS Analyst  (Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service)

Contract Duration - 12+ Months

Hybrid - Tarrytown , NY - Weekly 2 to 3 days

 

The Client needs a Business Analyst preferably from the Accounting & Finance side that has experience with Hyperion and or Oracle Planning (forecasting) & Budgeting than can first document current state. This team just took over support for Oracle EPM for 9 different Finance teams

 

A Business Analyst specializing in Oracle PBCS (Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service) is a professional who understands and applies business and technical knowledge to configure, implement, and support Oracle's PBCS solution. They work closely with clients and internal teams to understand their planning, budgeting, and forecasting needs, translating those requirements into functional and technical solutions within PBCS.

Key Responsibilities of a PBCS Business Analyst:

  • Understanding Business Requirements:

Identifying and documenting the specific needs of the client or organization related to planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Solution Design:

Translating business requirements into technical solutions within PBCS, including configuring Smart View sheets, developing calculations, and creating reports.

  • PBCS Configuration:

Configuring and customizing PBCS to meet specific business needs, such as setting up dimensions, creating templates, and developing business rules.

  • Testing and Implementation:

Participating in testing newly developed solutions and ensuring they meet the requirements, as well as assisting with implementation and go-live activities.

  • Data Integration:

Assisting with configuring data integration processes and data flows between PBCS and other systems.NOT REQUIRED

  • Documentation and Training:

Developing documentation and training materials for users to effectively utilize PBCS.

  • Troubleshooting and Support:

Providing ongoing support and troubleshooting for PBCS issues.

  • Process Improvement:

Recommending and implementing improvements to business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the PBCS environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • PBCS Expertise:

Strong understanding of PBCS functionality, including its features, capabilities, and limitations.NICE TO HAVE

  • Oracle EPM Cloud Knowledge:

Experience with other Oracle EPM Cloud modules, such as FCCS (Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service) and EPBCS (Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service), is a plus.

  • Financial and Business Process Knowledge:

Understanding of financial processes, including consolidation, close, planning, and budgeting.

  • Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Smart View, data management, and integration tools (ODI, FDMEE, etc.). NOT REQUIRED

  • Communication and Collaboration:

Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to effectively work with clients and stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

Ability to effectively troubleshoot issues and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:

Ability to perform data analysis and generate reports to support decision-making.

In essence, a PBCS Business Analyst acts as a bridge between the business users and the technology, ensuring that PBCS effectively supports their planning and budgeting needs.

  • Minimum Experience: 6-10 years of experience in EPM, with a focus on FCCS (Financial Consolidation and Close) and PBCS (Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service).

Technical Skills:

o Expertise in Oracle EPM Cloud (FCCS and PBCS) configuration and implementation.

o Strong knowledge of Hyperion and Oracle Cloud solutions, including financial consolidation, budgeting, and planning modules.

o Proficiency in Oracle EPM technologies (Essbase, FDMEE, Data Management, ODI, etc.).

Functional Skills:

o Strong understanding of financial processes, including financial consolidation, close, planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

o Ability to engage with business users and translate requirements into technical solutions.

Document Current state and interview with Stakeholders to understand and using Visio to mapping out Future state.

o Experience in business process reengineering in the context of financial management.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
