Job Title: Technical Support Engineer I
Location: Providence RI
Duration: 12 Months
Position Overview
The Technical Support Engineer I will provide configuration, installation, maintenance, and technical support for end-user systems across the Office. This role supports both cloud-based and on-premise environments, ensuring the reliability of hardware, software, and communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and implement fixes for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Provide timely customer service and help desk support.
- Create, modify, and delete user accounts as required.
- Collaborate with state agencies for hardware/software service and repair.
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and web-based access issues; provide remote support as needed.
- Create, deploy, and maintain PC images and software distribution packages.
- Configure, maintain, and monitor cloud and local software solutions.
- Perform user data and email archiving.
- Track and maintain IT inventory and support schedules.
- Participate in on-call and after-hours support as required.
Supported Systems & Tools
- Hardware: Desktop and laptop computers, Surfaces, printers, scanners, and monitors.
- Software: Microsoft Office 365, proprietary applications, internet browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome), Adobe Acrobat DC/Reader, productivity tools.
- Telephony: Econotel IP Telephone System.
- Operating Systems: Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Current network and operating system certifications strongly preferred.
- Strong technical skills in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and system support.
- Excellent communication, listening, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
