Job Description Summary

What impact you'll make:
As a leader in Controls Engineering, you will be an active contributor to the Gas Power business and deliver systems and designs that are fundamental to the GE Vernova purpose. You will be responsible for all aspects of Technology Strategy, and R&D Programs relative to program management, R&D say/do, portfolio management, long range forecast, new technology introduction, session T, and engineering's tool suite ownership including the Virtual desktop environment. Controls Engineering delivers designs that protect, operate, and control all of GE Vernova Gas Power's new and services power plant projects, including Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, and Plant.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead & manage the Controls Engineering - Technology Strategy, Programs & Productivity team.
  • Direct global team to define & execute engineering technology strategy and drive successful R&D program(NPI & NTI) outcomes while delivering impactful development & execution tools. Own Controls R&D and GE Vernova R&D program across Controls Engineering.
  • Drive engineering team performance on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost KPIs. Own and deliver R&D Operating Reviews & key program KPIs.
  • Measure and drive plan to set and meet capacity vs demand for all programs.
  • Own & deliver long range forecast(5yrs) and annual session T for Controls Engineering.
  • Develop engineering, continuous improvement, and lean roadmaps. Execute VSMs, Kaizens, and build lean management culture to improve R&D say do and integrate with Gas Power development deck & build plan.
  • You will lead a team of 25 engineers that: a) own & manages R&D and new technology programs for 200 engineers in control system & electrical platforms, Cybersecurity, HMI, Network, and Application Software; and b) own, maintain and improve development tools for a 1000+ person engineering team, that delivers control systems in executing 200+ annual projects to bring ~15GW of new power on-line each year globally.
  • Improve Controls scaled agile framework and increase visibility and integration with gas power development and fufillment schedules thru improving program say/do, tools & process.
  • Partner closely with Controls Product Management and the Strategic Technology and Adaptive Intelligence team.
  • Develop & drive multigenerational tech programs across controls, inclusive of Technology Readiness and acceleration of Adaptive Intelligence to enhance productivity and new product solutions.

Required Qualifications
  • 4 year engineering degree.
  • 10 years of design, operations and team leadership experience in the Power Industry
  • Extensive expertise and experience of industrial control system design for power plants, gas and steam turbines.
  • Proven track record of high quality project execution.

Desired Characteristics
  • You have a proven track record and experience with leading and executing R&D projects and tools for teams that engineer Mark VIe control system designs, and/or with distributed controls systems.
  • You have a network with or within Power Generation OEM(s), and/or utility customers and/or plant operators.

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $152,400.00 - 203,200.00 USD per year. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, geographic location, and skill set.
This position is also eligible for a 15% annual performance bonus. This position will stay open on the career website until at least 5/10/2025.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%,120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
