Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Level 3 Data Center Technician to join the team in Mount Pleasant, WI. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity and performance of data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of network systems, server hardware, and GPU deployment, with a proven track record in hyperscale environments.

Key Responsibilities

General Duties:
  • Relocate, inspect, install, and cable servers and switches according to wire maps and standards.
  • Ensure all cabling is neat, bundled, and compliant with data center standards.
  • Collaborate with network administrators to verify connectivity and proper configuration.
  • Install additional server components (NICs, drives, memory).
  • Unbox, prep, and audit servers and consumables.
  • Troubleshoot server issues and isolate root causes.
  • Order and replace defective parts, coordinating returns to vendors.
  • Update server firmware and configure IP addresses and login credentials.
  • Support network admins with server/switch issues, including cabling, optics, and hardware replacements.
  • Temporarily rack and stack devices for remote configuration.
  • Deploy and configure GPUs, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
  • Perform break-fix tasks, including GPU troubleshooting and component replacement.

Advanced Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and ticket resolution.
  • Act as a liaison between technicians and management.
  • Manage and prioritize team workload effectively.
  • Review and validate build documentation prior to project execution.
  • Lead build activities and ensure alignment with data center standards.
  • Offer thought leadership to support program growth.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects in a high-pressure environment.
  • Monitor project timelines and report status to project managers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational standards.

Qualifications

Required:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, climb ladders, and wear PPE as needed.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Preferred Certifications & Experience:
  • CompTIA A+, Server+, or equivalent.
  • CCENT or CCNA certification.
  • MCP/MSCE certification.
  • Experience with Windows OS.
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Familiarity with structured cabling, rack & stack, fiber optics, and optical testing.
  • Understanding of storage devices and network fundamentals (OSI Layers 1-3).
  • Experience with copper and fiber optic cable installation and termination.
  • ITIL Framework familiarity (ITSM, Change Management, Problem Management).
  • OSHA30 or higher certification.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.60 - $33.60/hr.
