Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed healthcare professional who:
- Coordinates patient care delivery within the healthcare team.
- Uses the nursing process to:
- Assess patient condition.
- Identify nursing diagnoses based on health problems.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Evaluate patient outcomes and modify care as needed.
- Promotes safe care transitions and avoids preventable delays or complications.
- Delegates appropriate tasks to healthcare personnel based on:
- The Texas Nursing Practice Act.
- Patient condition.
- Competency of the staff member.
This position applies to RNs in both inpatient and outpatient hospital departments with 24x7 staffing needs, including those with on-call coverage on off shifts.
