• Ensure that the Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure cloud environment is running smoothly by managing, monitoring, and maintaining Google Cloud Platform, Azure services and resources.
• Implement best practices to ensure the security and performance of the Google Cloud Platform, Azure environment.
• Resolve technical issues to meet the organization s needs.
• Set up and maintain virtual machines, storage, and networking resources to support cloud-based applications.
• Set up and maintain Google Cloud Platform, Azure to support cloud-based workloads
• Monitor the cloud environments performance to promote maximum uptime and minimal downtime.
• Ensure the security of the Google Cloud Platform, Azure environment by conducting regular security audits, staying updated on security threats, and educating users about security best practices.
• Support and roll out new Google Cloud Platform, Azure services.
• Assist with Google Cloud Platform, Azure cloud migration initiatives.
• Conduct all cloud configuration through Infrastructure as Code (IaC)Demonstrate Jira knowledge
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform amd Azure and AWS. Google Cloud Platform is the primary skillset Systems administration expertise (Windows, Linux) Scripting technologies (Powershell, Bash, Python) Enterprise Monitoring Tools for infrastructure and applications ITIL Foundations and Intermediate Level Transition, Operations, and Continuous Improvement Enterprise ITSM and CMDB Tools Data Networks – routing, firewalls, load balancers, DNS Databases – relational and NoSQL Storage architecture and technologies Security – Access Management, Key Management Cloud Architectures Automation in a cloud environment – Infrastructure as Code, especially using Google Cloud Platform SDLC and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment concepts Risk, Security, and Audit compliance
• Certifications in Google Cloud Platform and or Azure platform (SysOps, DevOps, Architecture) considered a plus for this position.
• Cloud Engineering analyzes the financial, operational, and technical feasibility of adopting external cloud based IT software, platform and infrastructure services.
• This job family evaluates the costs and benefits of cloud, virtual private networks, dedicated housing, and in-house solutions and identifies portions of the organization s IT infrastructure with the highest potential return for cloud deployment.
• Cloud Engineering also manages the implementation of cloud services and their integration with in-house applications and systems, coordinating with vendors and adhering to engineering best practices.
• The Cloud Engineer role requires an understanding of Cloud Technologies (specifically Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure) and Services, Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and IT Operations based on ITIL Framework.
• The role s primary focus is to provide build and operations expertise with a high focus on automation in areas such as performance, monitoring, logging, security, backups/HA/DR, compliance, and ensuring the operations processes and standards are maintained in production.
• 1-3 Years of experience with Google Cloud Platform, certification preferred.1-2 Years of experience with Azure or AWS preferred
• Bachelor s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
• Excellent organizational skills, and oral and written communication skills preferred Security compliance experience such as ITIL, PCI, ISO 27001 or SOX preferred
• Ability to apply critical thinking to all aspects of the position preferred
