Software Development Engineer 1


BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Software Development Engineer 1 for an opportunity in Redmond, WA


Position Title: Software Development Engineer 1


Location: Redmond WA, Fully Remote


Anticipated Start Date: - ASAP


Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.


Expected Duration: 12 Months Contract


Job Type: Contract and Hybrid


Pay Range: $40/hr. - $45/hr.


Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).


Requirements:



  • Minimum 1-2 years experience with working hands-on in DevOps or CI/CD tools, specifically Jenkins and Azure DevOps. .

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience with designing, implementing, and editing scripts to streamline manual operations using languages like PowerShell or Python in a medium or large-scale codebase..

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience with using data and observability solutions to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for CI/CD infrastructure


Job Responsibilities:


Responsibilities



  • Execute day-to-day tasks to support the operations of the CI/CD pipelines of AAA games using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and Perforce

  • Routine maintenance such as updating auth tokens for services

  • Triage and resolve external partner issues

  • Mitigate issues blocking automation tasks from succeeding

  • Drive data-backed improvements by identifying areas of improvement and recommend changes

  • Monitor and analyze metrics, traces, and logs across all CI/CD systems

  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and postmortems

  • Combine history and upcoming needs to ensure CI/CD capacity

  • Design and implement scripts or similar automation to streamline operations

    Minimum Qualifications & Skills



  • 1- 3 years of experience working hands-on in DevOps or CI/CD tools, specifically Jenkins and Azure DevOps.

  • 1-2 years of experience designing, implementing, and editing scripts to streamline manual operations using languages like PowerShell or Python in a medium or large-scale codebase.

  • Experience using data and observability solutions to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for CI/CD infrastructure.

  • Experience with source control systems such as Git and Perforce. Perforce experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including agile methodologies and continuous integration and deployment.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analysis of critical problems.

  • Outstanding communication and writing skills, including ability to ask questions or share information with clarity and brevity in a team-oriented environment.

  • Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps work item tracking.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

    Desirable Skills



  • Familiarity with Azure or other cloud environments

  • C++ and/or C# proficiency

  • SQL proficiency

  • Familiarity with game engines and tooling

  • Experience implementing data solutions to measure and monitor KPIs
