Job Details

One of our clients in the government sector is seeking a Custodial Worker Supervisor. Who will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the custodial staff to ensure that all school district facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition, The role involves supervising custodial personnel, coordinating cleaning schedules, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Short Term Contract

Years of Experience required: 4 years

Schedule: Monday Friday

Shift: 7 AM 3:30 PM

Hours/Day: 7.5 Hrs.

Time Zone: CST

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate custodial staff to ensure efficient and effective cleaning and maintenance of school facilities.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to meet district standards.
  • Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and address any disciplinary issues.
  • Coordinate with school administrators and district officials regarding facility needs and maintenance schedules.
  • Inspect buildings regularly to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards are met.
  • Order supplies, equipment, and cleaning products needed for custodial operations.
  • Enforce safety procedures and ensure staff adherence to district policies and safety regulations.
  • Respond to maintenance emergencies and coordinate urgent repairs as needed.
  • Keep accurate records of custodial activities, inventories, and work orders.
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of custodial staff.
  • Promote a positive work environment and teamwork among custodial staff.
  • Primarily performed on school premises.
  • May require occasional after-hours or weekend work for special events or emergencies.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training or conferences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Experience equivalent to four years of increasingly responsible full-time custodial work, including at least two years of supervisory experience.
  • Associate s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA training) are a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Outstanding organizational skills; diligent with great attention to detail.

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge:

  • Understanding cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and safety protocols applicable to school environments.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance and repair practices.
  • Familiarity with custodial equipment, tools, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Understanding of district policies, health and safety regulations, and OSHA standards.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and supply ordering.
  • Awareness of emergency procedures and protocols related to school safety.

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills to effectively manage custodial staff.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills to coordinate cleaning schedules and maintenance activities.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with staff, students, and district personnel.

  • Ability to interpret and follow safety and cleaning procedures accurately.

  • Inspect school facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance.
  • Operate and troubleshoot custodial equipment. Enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.

  • Selected applicants must verify experience/highest degree held.
