Job Description Summary
The successful candidate(s) will be a Lead Materials Engineer for nondestructive testing and evaluation technologies for Wind Turbine products

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Maintain material and special process specifications for nondestructive test methods and procedures.
  • Work with suppliers to interpret specifications/standards and optimize production methods/techniques.
  • Review supplier and service provider NDT procedures and techniques to ensure compliance with codes, standards and specifications.
  • Service and RCA projects support - NDT process development for field inspection and validation.
  • Interface with services teams and 3rd parties to develop field procedures and review results.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and standard work.
  • Identify technology development opportunities for growth and investment.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant Science or Engineering field (Materials, Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical).
  • Minimum 5 years experience with non-destructive test methods and procedures covering a variety of metallic materials.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (international and domestic) as needed (up to 25%)

Desired Characteristics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hands on experience with NDT methods for volumetric (UT) and surface (MPI, PT) inspection.
  • Proficiency in common NDT methods for metals.
  • Good understanding of other acoustic and electromagnetic test methods.
  • Familiarity with casting, forging, welding and joining material processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards for NDT.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team contributing to positive culture and overall team results.
