Network Security Engineer

I have a 6+ month contract for a Network Security Engineer to join the team.  This is working for one of our top tier clients in East Hartford, CT.

Responsibilities:

• Must possess understanding of networking concepts and protocols, and be proficient in Microsoft operating systems.
• Must have experience with Windows 10, Microsoft servers and VMware and be an expert in Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Technical understanding of vulnerabilities and how attackers can exploit vulnerabilities to compromise systems.
• Experience with network vulnerability management software for patching, configuring and detecting network vulnerabilities required.
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on network security experience with implementing and maintaining security controls, patch management and the duties and responsibilities specified.
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security or a related technical field preferred.
• Experience with digital certificates and disk encryption.

 
Qualifications:

• Technical proficiency and knowledge in information assurance, network security, computer information systems, computer science, or management information systems.
• Hands-on experience with relevant compliance and vulnerability management technologies such as Nessus, Qualys and Rapid7 • Familiarity with information security policies, standards, industry best practices, and frameworks (NIST 800-53, FISMA).

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: CCNA or ISC certifications a plus
