Job Title: Automation Lead Functionize

We are seeking a skilled Automation Lead with expertise in Functionize to design, implement, and oversee automated testing strategies that improve software quality, accelerate releases, and ensure seamless product performance. The role involves leading automation initiatives, mentoring team members, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and efficient automated testing solutions.

Skillset & Experience :

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 7+ years of QA/Automation experience, with at least 2+ years as a Lead.
• Strong hands-on experience with Functionize automation platform.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Java, Python, or similar scripting languages for test automation.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Knowledge of Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or other test automation frameworks is a plus.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation Leadership

• Lead the design, development, and execution of automated test frameworks and suites using Functionize.
• Define and drive automation strategy, roadmap, and best practices across teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align automation efforts with business and product goals.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to QA automation engineers.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce automation standards across the team.

Automation Development & Execution

• Develop and maintain robust automated test scripts for UI, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Optimize Functionize scripts to ensure scalability, reusability, and maintainability.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.
• Ensure automated test coverage aligns with functional and non-functional requirements.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in test automation scripts.

Quality Assurance & Reporting

• Monitor and analyze test results, providing actionable insights to development teams.
• Establish metrics and KPIs to measure automation effectiveness.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts to resolve defects early in the lifecycle.
• Ensure automation solutions align with compliance, security, and performance standards.
• Prepare and present status reports on automation progress, gaps, and improvements.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with DevOps teams to strengthen CI/CD automation integration.
• Drive innovation by researching and implementing new automation tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
• Support manual QA teams by identifying areas for automation and reducing regression testing effort.
• Promote shift-left testing by integrating automation earlier in the SDLC.
• Train and coach team members on effective use of Functionize and other automation tools.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud testing environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Familiarity with test management tools (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr).
• Ability to design automation frameworks from scratch.
• Exposure to AI/ML-driven testing tools and practices.
• Strong knowledge of API automation (Postman, RestAssured, or equivalent).
