Position Title: AV Field Service Technician

Overview:

Our client is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Service Technician to support and maintain advanced audiovisual systems for enterprise clients. This role is ideal for a technician with 5+ years of experience-either currently in service or looking to transition into a service-focused role. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with Crestron and AMX systems, possess their own basic hand tools, and demonstrate proficiency with multimeters for diagnosing connectivity issues. Strong communication skills and professionalism in client-facing environments are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues across a range of AV technologies, including:
    • Custom control systems (Crestron DM/NVX, AMX)
    • Executive boardroom and conference center AV systems
    • Video teleconferencing platforms
    • AVoIP networks (LAN/WAN/internet-based)
    • Audio DSP systems (amplifiers, speakers, microphones)
    • Projection and display systems
    • Video wall and digital signage systems
    • RF systems (analog and digital, to a lesser extent)
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct system testing and site surveys to support service agreement proposals.
  • Reporting: Create clear and concise service reports and system evaluations.
  • Project Management: Oversee and coordinate multiple service engagements simultaneously.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and support junior and intermediate field service technicians.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Associate degree or technical diploma (or equivalent experience)
    • CTS certification preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of field service experience in AV or related technologies
  • Technical Skills:
    • Audiovisual systems
    • Cat6 cabling
    • Audio and video conferencing
    • System installation and integration

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
