Job Title: Database Developer
Duration: 12 months
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
Job Description
The Database Developer will supervise the coordination of design and security for computer databases to store, track, and maintain a large volume of critical business information.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into data analysis, mapping, and integration routines.
Identify data sources, create data flow diagrams, and document source-to-target mapping.
Work with Data Architect to recommend optimal data models and assist BI developers with analytic reports.
Enable team members developing database applications on-premises or cloud-based platforms.
Design, implement, and maintain database objects such as tables, views, indexes, and security controls.
Collaborate with data stewards and domain experts to enforce best practices in data integrity and reporting.
Optimize data warehouse performance through batch processing and tuning.
Establish metadata governance processes to ensure data accuracy within BI environments.
Ensure data quality with audit controls, monitoring, and cleansing techniques.
Manage integrity checks, deployments, and coordinate release activities.
Utilize version control software (e.g., GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines.
Provide on-call support as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence
5+ years of BI development using Microsoft SQL Server (expert-level T-SQL)
5+ years in SSIS and stored procedure usage
2+ years of experience with Power BI
Strong understanding of data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical)
Deep understanding of relational database design and SQL
Experience mentoring junior developers
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Bachelor s degree in Computer/Information Sciences, Business, or related field
Preferred Skills:
1 2 years of experience with Azure Data Warehouse (Synapse)
1 2 years of experience with Azure Data Factory, SQL VMs, ETL, and Data Lake
