Job Details

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful implementation and conversion of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. This role requires strong project management expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams across clinical, operational, and technical domains. Familiarity with EMR systems and/or experience in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, finance, or pharmaceuticals) is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Plan, execute, and deliver EMR software conversion projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with executive sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead project meetings, facilitate decision-making, and ensure effective communication among business units, clinical staff, IT teams, and vendors.
  • Coordinate system configuration, data migration, testing, training, and go-live readiness activities.
  • Monitor and report on project status, issues, and dependencies to executive leadership and governance committees.
  • Manage vendor relationships and hold third parties accountable to contractual obligations and project milestones.
  • Oversee change management efforts to support user adoption and operational continuity during and after implementation.
  • Identify and resolve project conflicts, delays, or risks proactively.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor s degree in Project Management, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in a similar role will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience managing complex IT or software implementation projects, ideally in healthcare or other regulated industries.
  • Proven experience leading EMR/EHR implementation, upgrade, or conversion projects is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and shifting deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to technical and executive audiences.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar platforms.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with specific EMR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Matrix Care, or comparable systems.
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, HITECH, or other regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Experience in change management or process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PROSCI) is a plus
