Job Details
Job Title: Site Manager
Location: Cheyenne Wells, CO 80810
Assignment Length: 6 months (possible extension based on performance/business needs)
Travel: ~85%
Note: Out-of-state candidates welcome.
Summary
Seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee construction activities for substation and FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) projects across the U.S. This role leads all on-site activities to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective execution aligned with project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on-site activities during construction, installation, start-up, testing, and commissioning.
- Build effective relationships with customers, subcontractors, and local authorities.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors to meet safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Plan and track on-site activities, resources, equipment, and milestones.
- Enforce Health & Safety policies; empowered to stop work for any HSE violations.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, installation, and logistics of project equipment.
- Provide technical guidance, support site documentation, and assist in developing project schedules.
- Collaborate with project leadership on progress, performance, and safety.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Construction Management/Engineering preferred; relevant trade or construction leadership experience may substitute.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, substation installation, or electrical systems (8+ years preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret civil and electrical drawings and technical documents.
- Strong decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations with multiple priorities.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and possess a valid driver s license.
- OSHA 30 (Construction) required.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of electrical power systems and industrial applications.
- Background in civil/electrical construction, engineering, installation, or commissioning.
- Familiarity with substation design, grounding, welding basics, lifting methods, cable pulling and termination.
- Understanding of utility and substation safety compliance.
