This consultant will travel all over the US (ATLANTA, Kentucky and east coast) Disqualifiers: -no 4 year Engineering degree -no Aveva Edge experience or MHE experience -only manufacturing or maintenance engineering background vs working for a systems integrator or material handling company (the pace is much different and rarely do manufacturing people create/program from scratch) -Not comfortable with 60-80% travel (mainly from early summer until Thanksgiving)
For many of our employee s onsite work is a significant portion of the job responsibilities. In support of employee work-life balance, DA utilizes a 10/4 travel policy, which entails working ten consecutive days followed by four consecutive days off. This schedule maximizes available work and home time, while minimizing travel time.
The 10/4 schedule requires the following:
Day 1: the employee travels to the jobsite arriving in the afternoon and works no less than 3 hours.
Days 2-9, reports to the jobsite working full days as required.
Day 10: the employee travels home in the afternoon after working no less than 3 hours.
Daily Commissioning Update: the standard daily commissioning email must be sent by the employee on all scheduled days onsite, Day 1 Day 10.
Job Description
client has a major amount of UPS controls system upgrades booked for the next 2 years and is ramping up to meet demand for projects.
They ned to hire one HMI Engineer to complete design, development, and commissioning of conveyor HMI/SCADA systems for UPS.
The HMI Engineer will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, including concept development, design, programming, FAT, on-site commissioning, and ongoing support for said project. You will manage multiple projects and collaborate with various engineering disciplines, project management, controls engineering teams, electrical engineering teams, and various customers groups.
Responsibilities:
GUI/HMI Programmer
Designs, modifies, develops, writes, and implements HMI/SCADA/GDU applications (Indusoft, and Wonderware)
Supports and/or installs software applications, operating systems, computer, and networking equipment.
Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, execution, witnessing, and certification of software.
Participates in site commissioning activities.
Adheres to standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams.
Provides technical support to project team members.
Leads and directs the work of others.
Works under the supervision of the Software Manager.
Essential Skills:
- Experience with Aveva Edge (formerly Indusoft) or Ignition.
Must Have
- HMI/SCADA Software Experience (Factory Talk, FT optix, Wonderware, Indusoft)
- Knowledge in SCADA, IoT, PLC programming, Python, and VBScript
Prefer
- Material Handling or Parcel
- UPS project experience
