This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.
Position Responsibilities:
Electrical Component Engineering Standards and Processes:
- Applies engineering knowledge of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components in evaluation of components for assembly and subassembly repair/design
- Works with Sub-contractors and Suppliers to ensure their electronic components are qualified for Boeing usage per the contract and the Parts Management Plan
- Understanding the basics of Aircraft and Weapons design/requirements to help recommend the correct Alternate electrical components for new product development and legacy programs
- Uses Project Management tools with minor supervision to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements
- Incorporates Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) lab testing and qualification
- Helps support, establish work statements, to define strategies, and/or aids in providing consultation with peers while keeping management informed
- Experience with military and/or industry specifications.
- Experience with a harsh environment/high reliability design environment, including previous aerospace, medical device, automotive, or industrial design/application experience.
- Experience with connectors, wires, and cables, including the fabrication of cables/bundles, installation of cables/harnesses, etc.
- Electrical design and/or Test experience with electrical components, wiring harnesses, connectors and cables.
- Ideally have specific experience in any military aerospace discipline, either as a defense contractor or as former military, especially in the area of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS)
- Noted experience with military electronics. Not necessarily aerospace, as long as its directly related to one of our electrical disciplines (i.e. components, wire/cables, processes, etc.)
- Defined experience with the electrical mil specs and aerospace industry specs that are relevant to our day to day.
- Experience/insight with wiring design, cables, connectors, etc. Someone who worked in a position where this was a key element of their primary responsibilities for 3 -5 years.
