Bloomberg Media is looking for a Broadcast Operator with a proactive attitude who is focused, flexible, and proficient in several aspects of broadcast operations. • Collaborate with the technical team and editorial personnel to ensure a quality visual presentation to our audience
  • Operate all broadcast equipment and technology within assigned control rooms at an advanced level, including but not limited to, audio mixing consoles, signal flows, mix-minus, intercom devices (RTS), broadcast routers (Grass Valley), microphones, IFB's, etc.
  • Mix multiple studio anchors, reporters, and guests as well as remote guests and feeds, music, and sound on tape
  • Manipulate EQ, gain, compression, and delay settings for any audio source
  • Follow along with breaking news developments, working quickly to match relevant graphics with the on-air conversation as they become available
  • Understand the flow and composition of a live news broadcast
  • Communicate with Operations Team Leads on issues that will impact the team and broadcasts

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or 2 years of experience working in a live TV environment
  • Familiarity with the dynamics of a live studio and control room environment
  • Willingness to work an overnight shift regularly (8pm-5am) as well as weekends & holidays
  • Ability to work in highly distracting settings and under considerable pressure
