Job Title: Research & Report Writing Intern / Part-Time Contractor

Location: 100% Remote (Washington, DC preferred)

Commitment: Part-Time / Contract (flexible hours, with evening and weekend availability during deadlines)

 

About Us

We are a Washington, DC-based consulting firm specializing in data, analytics, and government projects. Currently, we are supporting the District of Columbia government on a high-profile report and are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern/contractor to assist our team.

 

Role Overview

The Research & Report Writing Intern/Contractor will support our project team by conducting research, performing data analysis, and drafting written sections of a government report. This role requires someone who is highly organized, comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative information, and willing to put in extra effort during critical deadlines.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews and background research on assigned topics.
  • Analyze datasets (basic statistical analysis and interpretation).
  • Draft, edit, and format sections of formal reports and presentations.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity in writing.
  • Collaborate with project leads and analysts to meet deliverable deadlines.
  • Be available to work flexible hours, especially during reporting deadlines.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in progress or completed (preferred fields: Public Policy, Data Analytics, Economics, Education, Social Sciences, or related).
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with data analysis (Excel required; knowledge of Stata, R, Python, or similar is a plus).
  • Research experience, particularly in policy or social impact areas.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise writing.
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with government reports, policy writing, or needs assessments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism.
