Job Description

FlexStaff is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer for our client, an engineering firm, to be responsible for project management and engineering, from conception to completion in the Western NY region.

This is a permanent, full-time job.

The ideal candidate would have BS Civil Engineering from an accredited university, New York State Professional Engineer (PE) required and 10 or more years of bridge engineering design and management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with proposal preparation, creation of design and construction documents, and oversee construction administration under the direction of senior managers.
  • Contribute to the expansion of our engineering operations and market presence.
  • Prepare calculations and design documents, including assembling plans and specifications for public bidding and advertisement.
  • Develop contract specifications and prepare bid documents for contracts.
  • Review design criteria to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Perform and review calculations using engineering software and manual methods.
  • Provide Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) reviews for project deliverables.
  • Follow established checking procedures, identify issues, and propose effective solutions.
  • Develop and oversee the preparation of cost estimates for construction documentation.
