Job Description
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and Hugging Face Transformers.
Experience with Generative AI technologies and large language models (e.g., GPT-4, BERT, DALL-E).
Expertise in cloud-native AI services:
o Azure: Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, OpenAI Service
o AWS: SageMaker, Bedrock, Rekognition
o Google Cloud: Vertex AI, AutoML, Generative AI Studio
Hands-on experience with MLOps practices, including CI/CD for model deployment, model monitoring, and retraining.
Knowledge of utility-specific protocols, systems, and data types (e.g., SCADA, AMI, GIS).
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business challenges into AI solutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Certifications
Relevant certifications in AI/ML and cloud platforms:
o Azure AI Engineer Associate
o AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty
o Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer
Certifications in Generative AI tools (e.g., OpenAI or Hugging Face) are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of emerging trends in the utilities industry, such as energy transition, smart grids, and renewable energy integration.
Experience with AI/ML applications in IoT and edge computing for utilities.
Familiarity with AI frameworks for sustainability and carbon footprint reduction.
Experience Required
8+ years in AI/ML architecture, with at least 5 years focused on Power & Utilities.
Proven track record of deploying AI solutions at scale in enterprise environments.
Roles & Responsibilities AI/ML Strategy & Architecture
Define and implement end-to-end AI/ML architectures, including model development, deployment, and monitoring, to solve business challenges in utilities (e.g., energy forecasting, predictive maintenance, and grid optimization).
Architect and deploy Generative AI (Gen AI) solutions for applications.
Design scalable AI/ML pipelines leveraging cloud-native platforms and open-source frameworks.
Industry-Specific AI Solutions
Develop AI-powered solutions for utility-specific use cases, such as:
D emand Response: AI models for real-time energy demand prediction and load balancing.
Asset Performance: Predictive maintenance models for critical infrastructure like transformers, power lines, and turbines.
Customer Engagement: Personalization and sentiment analysis using AI to enhance customer experience and retention.
Energy Transition: AI-driven insights for integrating renewable energy sources, managing distributed energy resources (DERs), and optimizing carbon reduction strategies.
Generative AI Expertise
Implement Generative AI use cases, such as intelligent document processing, report generation, and scenario simulation using technologies like OpenAI, Hugging Face, Anthropic, and cloud-native Gen AI services.
Enable conversational AI capabilities with tools like Azure OpenAI Service, Google Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, and ChatGPT API.
Platform Expertise
Leverage major AI/ML and data platforms, including Azure Machine Learning, AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, and Databricks ML.
Integrate AI models with existing utility systems (e.g., SCADA, OMS, DERMS) to deliver actionable insights.
AI Governance & Ethics
Establish AI governance frameworks to ensure ethical use of AI, explainability, bias mitigation, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., NERC CIP, FERC).
Promote the responsible use of Gen AI technologies in enterprise applications.
Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with business stakeholders, data scientists, and engineers to design AI strategies aligned with utility goals.
Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams and mentor junior architects and engineers.

Ability to translate complex technical solutions into business value for utility leaders.
Support pre-sales activities including engaging prospects, conducting discovery workshops, developing point of views/solutions/scoping, writing proposals, engaging partners, and supporting sales and marketing enablement.
Provide advisory services to existing and new customers on AI/Gen AI Strategy and Consulting
Must be able to communicate with CTO and CXO level audience by demonstrating expertise in managing large AI Transformation programs
