Radar System Engineer (Expert)

Find your future with us. The Boeing Defense Team is working on several new development efforts and is looking for an expert Radar System Engineer to support these efforts in Tukwila, Washington.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead critical technical development efforts as a senior subject matter expert on RF/ Radar theory, digital signal processing, and radar concepts.
  • Define system performance requirements and ensure interface definition supports various functional components of the seeker's and missile's architecture.
  • Conduct analysis to optimize total system-of-systems performance or system architecture as applied to algorithmic functionality pertaining to the acquisition and tracking of targets.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and guide recommendations for system robustness in the presence of challenging operational environments.
  • Develops and validates requirements for various complex communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components.
  • Develops and validates requirements for electrical/electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects, and structures.
  • Develops architectures to integrate complex systems and components into higher level systems and platforms.
  • Performs complicated trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and
    system performance and to optimize design around established requirements.
  • Defines and conducts critical tests of various kinds to validate performance of designs to requirements.
  • Manages appropriate aspects of critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.
  • Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues.
  • Supports project management by providing coordinating development of work statement, budget, schedule and other required
    inputs and conducting appropriate reviews.
  • Generates major sections of proposals to support development of new business.
  • Works under minimal direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 15 years or more of experience in avionics integration and/or electronics systems and/or RF systems
  • Experience working with suppliers and with internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Strong collaboration and coordination skills
  • 5 years or more experience working in cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
  • Experience as an equipment manager for military or civil aerospace electronics/avionics systems including equipment qualification and testing strongly preferred
  • Experience with Radar systems (either RF or EO) or Radar integration
  • Active Top Secret
  • Experience dealing directly with USG and DoD Customers and Regulators
  • Experience eliciting, writing, managing and verifying requirements
