Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Product Owner to lead the development of API and services-based solutions that enhance executive reporting, with a specific focus on identifying and resolving errors within our online ordering process. This role will be critical in transforming raw data from systems like Salesforce and SAP into actionable insights, ensuring our leadership has accurate and timely information to drive strategic decisions and improve customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for API and service-based solutions supporting executive reporting, particularly around online order process errors.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate extensively with executive leadership, business stakeholders, engineering teams, and data analysts to understand reporting needs, pain points, and data gaps related to online ordering.
  • API & Services Design: Lead the definition of robust, scalable, and secure APIs and microservices that extract, transform, and aggregate data from diverse enterprise systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, e-commerce platforms).
  • Data Integrity & Error Resolution: Specifically identify, prioritize, and drive the resolution of data inconsistencies and errors occurring within the online ordering pipeline, ensuring data accuracy for reporting.
  • Backlog Management: Own, prioritize, and maintain a clear, concise, and actionable product backlog (user stories, epics, features) for the development team.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into understandable business terms and vice-versa.
  • Reporting & Analytics Focus: Ensure the developed solutions effectively feed executive dashboards and reports, providing clear visibility into online order performance, error rates, and resolution efforts.
  • Go-to-Market & Adoption: Work with relevant teams to ensure successful deployment, adoption, and ongoing optimization of new features and solutions.
  • Market & Technology Awareness: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies (e.g., data orchestration, real-time analytics, AI/ML for anomaly detection) to inform product evolution.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in a software development environment.
    • Proven experience working with APIs and microservices as a core product offering or integration method.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with large-scale enterprise systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Oracle ERP, e-commerce platforms).
    • Strong background in data analysis, business intelligence, or executive reporting.
    • Experience in identifying and resolving data quality issues in transactional systems.
  • Technical Acumen: Understanding of data architecture principles, API design best practices (REST, GraphQL), and data warehousing concepts.
  • Must have proficiency in SQL to directly query and analyze data, validate reports, and perform data quality checks.
  • Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with online ordering processes, e-commerce operations, and common pitfalls or error types.
  • Methodologies: Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (CSPO, SAFe POPM) preferred.

Skills

  • Exceptional Communication: Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a knack for identifying root causes of data anomalies and process errors.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to connect product features to broader business objectives and executive needs.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail, especially concerning data accuracy and reporting integrity.
  • Proactive & Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and drive initiatives from conception to completion.
