We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our team in the Energy industry. This is a permanent role, offering a unique opportunity for the chosen candidate to leverage their expertise in data engineering, ETL, data warehousing, big data, AI, ML and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and optimizing databases, with a deep understanding of data models and schemas. This role requires proficiency in various cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. This position will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data-driven decision-making within our organization.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of data engineers in the design, development, and implementation of data pipelines and data integration solutions.
  • Design and build scalable and reliable data models, schemas, and ETL processes.
  • Optimize data warehousing strategies and implement big data solutions using technologies like Spark, Databricks, and others.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, develop data strategies and plans.
  • Use your expertise in cloud platforms to manage and maintain our databases in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to support data analysis and business intelligence.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing advanced data management and governance practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and leverage them to improve our data infrastructure and capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, IT, or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data engineering, ETL, data warehousing, big data, and cloud technologies.
  • Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing databases.
  • Proficiency in various cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
  • Experience with big data technologies like Spark, AI, ML, and Databricks.
  • Solid understanding of data models, schemas, and ETL processes.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, data modeling, SQL queries, and data integration.
  • Strong leadership skills with a minimum of 5 years of experience in leading and managing data engineering teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data-related concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience in the energy industry is a plus.
