Overview: Every consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services offers to clients. As a Backup and Legal Hold Platform Engineer, you will join the Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.

Responsibilities:

Backup and Legal Hold Operations

Support enterprise backup and recovery services using Commvault across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments

Configure and maintain backup policies, retention, and recovery workflows

Support legal hold and eDiscovery requirements for Microsoft 365 workloads, including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams

Participate in on-call rotation to support backup incidents and restore requests

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in collaboration with internal teams and vendor support as needed

Cloud and Infrastructure Support

Support backup infrastructure deployed across multiple regions and platforms

Work with core AWS and Azure services related to networking, storage, identity, and security

Assist with platform upgrades, maintenance, and infrastructure changes

Develop familiarity with cloud-native capabilities that support enterprise backup and recovery solutions

Automation and Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to automate operational tasks and improve service reliability

Contribute to scripting and tooling efforts to support backup operations

Create and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks

Assist in improving onboarding, monitoring, and reporting processes for backup services

Operational Excellence

Monitor backup job health, capacity utilization, and service performance

Participate in recovery testing and audit readiness activities

Follow operational best practices and contribute to continuous service improvement

Qualifications:

Experience supporting enterprise backup and recovery platforms (Commvault preferred)

Exposure to Microsoft 365 backup, legal hold, or eDiscovery workflows

Working knowledge of AWS and/or Azure fundamentals

Experience supporting production systems and participating in on-call rotations

Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and work independently

Strong communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar)

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code or automation tools

Experience with object storage, encryption, or data immutability concepts

Exposure to multi-region or hybrid cloud environments

The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $120,000 or the hourly equivalent.
