Job Title: Vice President / Director Financial  Data Analyst SME
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid: 2 days onsite & 3 days remote)
Duration: Long-term Contract

Job Description:
We are seeking a Vice President / Director-level Financial Business Data Analyst SME with deep expertise in data governance, reference data, and process improvement within the financial services domain. This consultant will provide senior-level oversight, acting as a strategic partner between business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure data accuracy, system integration, and compliance across research and financial reporting platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for financial reference data, market data, and data governance initiatives.

  • Provide leadership and direction in improving data quality, validation, reconciliation, and audit controls for referential and client data.

  • Drive requirement gathering, analysis, and documentation at an executive level, defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Partner with technology teams to design and implement scalable, enterprise-grade solutions for financial data management and reporting.

  • Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle within Agile framework, including design, testing, and deployment.

  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring robust coverage, stakeholder engagement, and defect resolution.

  • Build and maintain dashboards and executive reports (Tableau, QlikView, Excel) for compliance, audit, and senior management review.

  • Provide oversight for data migration projects, ensuring accurate mapping, transformation, and integration across systems.

  • Collaborate closely with business, engineering, and compliance leadership to ensure regulatory readiness and data governance adherence.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Data Analyst in financial services / investment banking.

  • Proven leadership experience at the Vice President or Director level driving large-scale data governance and financial data initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of Data Governance, Data Management, and Data Migration.

  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Tableau, QlikView, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence.

  • In-depth understanding of Security Master data (ISIN, CUSIP, LEI), market/pricing data pipelines.

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (formulas, macros, pivot tables) and MS PowerPoint for reporting/presentations.

  • Executive-level communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working at Goldman Sachs, Bloomberg, or other leading financial institutions.

  • Experience supporting Legal, Compliance, and Audit functions through reporting and data validation.
