Detailed Job Description:

We are looking for a seasoned analytics professional with over a decade of experience in SAS programming (Base, Macros, Viya), who can lead complex data initiatives, drive automation, and contribute to analytical strategy. The ideal candidate will also possess a working knowledge of Machine Learning, R, and Python, enabling cross-platform collaboration and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

SAS Expertise

• Design, develop, and optimize robust SAS programs using SAS Base, SAS Macros, and SAS Viya for large-scale data processing, reporting, and analytics.
• Lead SAS Viya implementations and migrations from legacy SAS environments.
• Build reusable macro libraries and automation frameworks to streamline analytics workflows.
• Perform advanced data wrangling, cleansing, and transformation across structured and semi-structured datasets.

Analytics & Modeling

• Apply statistical techniques and basic machine learning models (e.g., regression, decision trees, clustering) to solve business problems.
• Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to define modeling objectives and interpret results.
• Support model development, validation, and deployment using SAS and complementary tools.
• Apply foundational machine learning techniques such as:
• Linear and Logistic Regression
• Decision Trees
• Clustering (K-Means, Hierarchical)
• Time Series Forecasting

Cross-Platform Collaboration

• Use R and Python for exploratory data analysis, visualization, and prototyping.
• Integrate SAS workflows with Python/R scripts where needed, especially in Viya environments.
• Contribute to hybrid analytics solutions leveraging open-source and enterprise tools.

Leadership & Strategy

• Mentor junior analysts and guide best practices in SAS development and analytics.
• Engage with business units to understand requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
• Document processes, create knowledge assets, and contribute to analytics governance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAS Base, SAS Macros, and SAS Viya.
• Proven track record in building scalable SAS solutions for analytics, reporting, and automation.
• Strong understanding of data engineering, ETL, and data quality frameworks.
• Basic proficiency in Machine Learning algorithms and their application in business contexts.
• Working knowledge of R (e.g., tidyverse, ggplot2) and Python (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib).
• Experience with SAS Viya on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
• Bachelor s/Master s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience in working with SAS 9.4, SAS EG, data Engineering, Teradata.
• Preferably SAS Certified using SAS 9.4

Preferred Qualifications

• SAS Certifications: Base Programmer, Advanced Programmer, SAS Viya Professional.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git).
• Domain experience in banking, insurance, healthcare, or retail analytics.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
