Location: Greater DC Area (2 days per week onsite hybrid)

Job Description:

 

Our banking client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Security Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security protocols to protect our organization's data and systems. The role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risk management, along with a proactive approach to prevent breaches and ensure compliance with industry standards.

 

Seeking a real pro with Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Prisma. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies to protect IT infrastructure, networks, and data.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Design and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond promptly to security breaches.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into all projects.
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technology solutions.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on security best practices and protocols.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a security engineering role.
  • Experienced in Web Application Security and WAF
  • Experienced with Prisma Cloud (Palo Alto)
  • Proficiency in security tools and technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and antivirus software.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, encryption techniques, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in cloud security and familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages for automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
