Sr Analytics Application Engineer

Role Summary
The engineer will apply his Aero and Thermal expertise to build out Operations Performance
Management products for power generation. You will implement new, commercially re-usable analytics
solutions for production systems on-prem or in the cloud, gathering insights from customer assets and
providing operational advice. You will perform data analysis using various data sources, leverage
standard suite of platform, modules, algorithms, develop code component and configuration suited for
live autonomous operation. You need to provide expertise and drive consistent functional specifications
and common global processes for projects implementation. Activities that are conducted to better
understand or ultimately meet the expectations of the customer Responsible for departmental
operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical
discipline. You should be familiar with python programming and data science, possess background in
modeling and process control, existing experience in power generation is a plus.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Provides technical expertise and develops technical solutions (configuration, performance
estimation, etc.) as part of the pre-ITO (requisition) process while interfacing with the
commercial team. Possesses a deep understanding of relevant markets and customer economic
value that aid winning bid strategies.
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set
parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or
interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses
multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks
and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to
consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle
sensitive issues.
Create open-loop and closed-loop optimization solutions for power generation
Apply machine learning and first principle models to capture complex processes in generation
Use Python to develop production ready analytics to produce insights into historical and realtime operations
Work closely with the product owners to understand, refine requirements and recommend
suitable engineering solutions
Prioritize, prototype, design, build, test and deploy analytics artifacts following scrum
methodology
Provide communication, training, documentation and change management deliverables
required to increase adoption
Assist product implementation for new customers and support for existing customers
Replicate, troubleshoot reported issues, offer short term and long term solutions
Find and interpret data sources, manages large amounts of data, merges data sources together,
ensures consistency of data-sets, creates visualizations to aid in understanding data, and
communicates insights / findings in simplified way to reach people who do not understand
complex statistics
Execute in a fast pace delivery mode and focus in delivering tasks to meet the product release
goal
Work effectively across different internal and external teams for large projects
Education Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math) with advanced experience. Master or Ph.D candidate is
preferred.

6+ years experience in aero-derivative and heavy-duty gas turbines, with expertise in thermal,
combustion, fuels, emissions, Modeling, Analysis and controls
Familiar with combustion mapping and tuning
Solid understanding of power generation, Aero Derivative and gas turbines
Strong math, data analysis in python and data science
Experience using machine learning
Familiar with SQL database programming
Familiar with tools like jupyter, matlab
Experience working with AWS, Azure
Able to provide insights into business, product, and technology trade offs
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
