Lead Java Back-end Software Engineer

Work Location: Denver or NYC onsite

Duration: 24 Months

Role Description -

As Back-end Software Engineer your focus will be developing and implementing software solutions. Besides working closely with your colleagues within the team, you will also work closely with other Nasdaq teams spread globally.

You will:

  • be responsible for the development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of software applications.
  • Be involved in the full software development life cycle, from planning and designing to coding and testing.
  • Work closely with product managers, and other team members to understand business requirements and translate them into software solutions. Also be responsible for providing production support and documentation.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications. Serve as technical expert on development projects. Support, maintain and document software functionality.
  • Participate in software design meetings and perform code reviews.

We expect you to have: (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Strong core Java skills 10+ years of experience as a Java software engineer.
  • SQL, RESTful APIs, Spring and Spring Boot expertise.
  • Build tools: Maven and Git.
  • Java Frameworks (Keycloak, Open Search).
  • JSON, RESTful web-services and Microservices.
  • CI/CD pipeline experience.
  • Web-security skills: SAML, encryption, certificates, web attack protection.
  • JUnit, automated testing and test-driven development experience.
  • Awareness of DevOps and Agile principles and the ability to apply them.
  • Proficiency with Linux commands and utilities including Bash scripting.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills that enable you to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills to work well with other developers, partners, and users.
  • Creativity and innovation in creating solutions that meet user needs and expectations and deliver value to the business.
  • Attention to detail and quality assurance that ensure your software products are of high quality and meet the standards and requirements.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and cope with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Education Qualification: Degree qualified in a subject area related to Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Kotlin skills.
  • AWS experience.
  • Terraform.
  • Containers expertise (Docker and Kubernetes).
