About the Role:
Grade Level (for internal use):
12 The Team : Our Release Services team is responsible for engineering automation solutions for application, database code builds, deployments and server configurations. We interact with people from a wide variety of backgrounds across the entire organization and are able to develop a close team dynamic with coworkers from around the globe. In this role you will partner with business stakeholders, architects, application developers and technology leads to define and implement the appropriate tools needed to support our transformation efforts.

The Impact: You will be responsible for setting up, managing, and promoting the culture, practices, processes and tools that enable software development and operations. You will have a deep understanding of Agile and the various points at which development and operations could be improved. You will leverage processes, tools, automation and metrics to reduce the lead time from code commit to product delivery.

Compensation/Benefits Information : (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $$103,800 to $206,350. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Prior leadership experience preferred
  • Able to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Able to collaborate effectively with engineering leadership and peers
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to provide effective, result-oriented direction to the staff
  • Able to anticipate logistical and tactical software development and process problems, and be able to quickly and effectively resolve them
  • Understand SDLC/DEVOPS best practices and the tools used to implement them
  • Ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment while delivering high quality mission-critical software
  • Programmatically automate server configuration, software builds, testing and deployments
  • Work with product teams ensuring project deadlines are delivered on time and on budget
  • Review, oversee and ensure the tools and code our team writes and maintains follows best practices and established standards
  • Lead and participate in regular after-hours and weekend production deployments
  • Document work for cross-training purposes within the team and craft partner documentation and training
  • Work with various teams (DEV, QA, MIS, PMO, Product) in a cross-functional manner
Experience and proficiency with a variety of System tools including:
  • 6-10 years of technical experience
  • Experience programming (PowerShell, Bash, Groovy, Python)
  • Experience with continuous integration toolsets (Jenkins, VSTS, SonarQube, GitHub)
  • Experience with container/microservice architecture, configuration and deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure)
  • Experience with server configuration automation (Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform)
  • Experience using version control in a collaborative code environment (GIT, SVN)
  • Experience troubleshooting code compile issues and exceptions
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting server and application issues (Windows, Linux)
  • Experience with code dependency management (NuGet, Artifactory)
  • Experience with Agile and LEAN principles
