One of our Global Partners specializing in geospatial technologies solutions, system integration, and project lifecycle support for electric, gas, and water utilities is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to serve as a cloud technology expert within the Enterprise Architecture Practice Area, specializing in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting cloud solutions for internal and external projects. This person will provide strategic technical leadership, create cloud architecture documentation, and support business development by contributing to proposals and delivering customer presentations. Key responsibilities include modernizing existing cloud solutions, migrating on-premise systems to the cloud, and ensuring cloud solutions meet performance, scalability, and reliability standards. Requirements:
- 10+ years of cloud consulting and large-scale cloud technology projects (preferably in the utility industry) with experience in containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
- 6+ years of experience in enterprise GIS system design and implementation utilizing Esri ArcGIS products
- Expertise in cloud-native services (AWS, Azure), virtualization platforms (VMware, Citrix), and high availability design.
- Knowledge of cloud security, system tuning, load balancing (F5 BIG-IP, NGINX), and cloud monitoring tools (ArcGIS Monitor, CloudWatch).
- Ability to read client requirements, RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs to identify cloud opportunities, and then subsequently develop the cloud solution, statement of work, level of effort, and project schedule to be included in proposals
Preferred Skills:
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle)
- ESRI Certifications
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and modernize GIS cloud solutions for internal and external clients.
- Lead cloud architecture discussions, workshops, and road-mapping sessions with utility customers.
- Develop cloud architecture diagrams, cost estimates, and comprehensive system specifications.
- Support business development by preparing cloud solution proposals, statements of work, and project schedules.
- Ensure high-performance, scalable, and secure cloud environments for clients by following best practices and industry standards.
- Train and mentor team members on cloud technologies and methodologies.
- Stay current on cloud market trends, partner solutions, and competitor architectures to ensure innovative and best-practice solutions
