Location: 85% remote (Dallas area preferred)
Duration: 3-month contract, 6-8 hours/day
Rate: $25.00 - $31.00 / HR W2

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to support the HR/People Services team by developing and organizing content within the ServiceNow Knowledge Base. This role will help enhance the accessibility, clarity, and consistency of HR documentation to empower both internal HR agents and employees in self-serving common inquiries related to benefits, payroll, learning, 401(k), and more.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, review, and organize existing HR documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Develop, write, and edit content for the HR Knowledge Base (ServiceNow) to support self-service functionality.
- Create user-friendly articles, help guides, training materials, and UI content tailored to varying levels of employee understanding.
- Group and consolidate related materials (e.g., FAQs) into cohesive and searchable content.
- Define and refine taxonomy, categories, and overall information architecture.
- Partner with HR managers and team members to gather accurate information on policies, procedures, and processes.
- Ensure all content is accessible and easy to understand for diverse audiences.
- Continuously improve the structure and usability of the Knowledge Base based on user needs and feedback.
- Organize and edit a high volume of existing content that currently lacks structure.
- Identify content gaps and create new documentation where needed.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement content structure, categorization, and workflow improvements.
- Proven experience in technical writing, preferably in HR or employee-facing environments.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow Knowledge Base or similar enterprise ticketing/documentation systems.
- Ability to translate complex HR concepts into clear, accessible language.
- User-focused mindset with the ability to write for both HR teams and general employees.
- Existing documentation and draft content will be provided to support onboarding.
- Ongoing collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure accurate and aligned content.
- This role is not isolated guidance and feedback will be provided regularly throughout the project.
- A Bachelor s degree preferred but not required with equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
