Job Title: Android Developer

About the Role:
Device Intelligence & Analytics (DIA) team is looking for a seasoned Senior Android Developer to drive innovation in diagnostic applications and data collection capabilities. This role is key to enhancing customer experience through intelligent, scalable mobile solutions. You ll join a forward-thinking team developing critical features that support DIA s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy Android applications using Java and Kotlin.
- Build and maintain Android apps with a focus on scalability, performance, and user experience.
- Implement headless application features as needed.
- Collaborate in Agile/Scrum environments, participating in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
- Integrate apps with RESTful APIs and handle data in XML/JSON formats.
- Ensure code quality through rigorous debugging, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Stay up to date with modern mobile architecture and trending Android technologies.
- Engage in peer code reviews and Git-based version control workflows.
Must-Have Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in Java and Kotlin development.
- Strong proficiency with Android SDK and Android Studio.
- Deep understanding of Android app architecture, lifecycle, and UI/UX best practices.
- Experience in developing and shipping end-to-end Android applications.
- Familiarity with headless Android apps is a strong plus.
- Expertise in RESTful API integration.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in Git and tools like GitHub.
- Time management skills with the ability to work independently and deliver on schedule.
Work Schedule Note:
- Candidate must be available until at least 11 AM PST for Scrum calls and team syncs with the development team based in the Pacific Time Zone.
