Job Details

Computer Enterprises Inc. is currently hiring a Site Reliability Engineer for our client in Celebration, FL.

Title: Site Reliability Engineer (Systems Engineer)
Location: Celebration, FL
Schedule: Onsite at least once per week (subject to change)
 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products.

  • Monitor domain technologies, understand vendor roadmaps, and assess impacts to the client’s environment.

  • Develop and maintain engineering and architectural standards for on-premise/hybrid compute, storage, application, and data protection services.

  • Partner with business segments to consult on service delivery and technology opportunities, advising on proper service fulfillment and portfolio management approaches.

  • Review and advise on the effectiveness of technology approaches and their implications to technology delivery.

  • Serve as a technical expert and thought leader in virtualized technologies.

  • Design and implement DevOps-level deployments using CI/CD methodologies.

  • Act as primary support owner and contact for one or more hosting infrastructure applications, collaborating with project team members to orchestrate environment changes, upgrades, and patches.

  • Work with vendor support for issue escalation, including participating in on-call rotation with the infrastructure operations team.

  • Provide system reports on a regular and ad-hoc basis.

  • Improve automation and provisioning productivity through scripting and/or coding enhancements (Ansible and Python highly desirable).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Highly resourceful and independent, with the ability to quickly learn multiple disciplines and achieve manufacturer certification levels.

  • Experienced technologist able to identify technology and execution challenges in solutions from both internal and external providers.

  • Strong knowledge of features, benefits, and disadvantages of competing virtualization and cloud platforms.

  • Working knowledge of storage/server virtualization platforms (NSX, VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).

  • Experience with virtual environments such as VMware.

  • Expertise in multiple public cloud providers, including AWS (required), Google Cloud Services, Azure, and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

  • Bachelor’s degree or related work experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Ansible and Python scripting.
