Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong expertise in Unibasic programming and Unidata (Rocket U2) MultiValue databases.
- Experience with Pick MultiValue environments, including file structures, subroutines, and dictionaries.
- Proven ability to lead a technical support team and manage support escalations.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, with experience in performance tuning and system monitoring.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments, including scripting for automation and job scheduling.
- Familiarity with web service integrations (REST/SOAP) within Unidata.
- Understanding of ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in ERP systems that use Unidata/Unibasic.
- Exposure to modern scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, shell scripting).
- Knowledge of cloud-based MultiValue database environments.
- Experience in database migrations, upgrades, and performance tuning.
- Job Summary:
- We are looking for an experienced Unibasic/Unidata Support Lead to oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of applications built on Unibasic and Unidata (Rocket U2). The ideal candidate will lead a support team, ensure system stability, and work closely with development teams and business stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, leadership capabilities, and deep technical expertise in Unidata and MultiValue database environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Unibasic/Unidata application support team, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for Unidata-based applications, troubleshooting performance and system issues.
- Monitor system health, identify recurring issues, and implement proactive solutions to enhance stability.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and end-users to analyze and resolve technical problems.
- Oversee incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive maintenance for Unibasic/Unidata applications.
- Develop and maintain support documentation, knowledge base articles, and technical guides.
- Lead system upgrades, patches, and enhancements to improve application performance and security.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and best practices.
- Train and mentor junior support team members to enhance their technical skills and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers for application support and issue resolution.
