Engagement Description –
- User experience is part strategy, part research, part design.
- The UX designer works with key stakeholders and conducts research to understand business needs, end-user insights, and the competitive landscape, to shape the UX direction to achieve business objectives.
- The UX designer then creates a design based on the direction, collaborating with content writers and UI designers.
- The overall design should facilitate a user experience that is usable, accessible, and delightful to end-users using human-centered design principles and best practices.

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the following:
User research
- Conduct discovery and design research to inform UX direction and design
- Participate in design strategy activities that set the experience direction for products
UX design
- Communicate human-centered design principles and best practices solutions via wireframes, prototypes, and other design documents using programs such as Figma (strongly preferred).
- Strong design system experience with advanced Figma component design skills (auto layout, component properties, variants, and library management).
Required Skills/Experience – The rest of the required skills/experience. Include:
- Participates in requirement-gathering activities to identify business needs, user goals and measures of success
- Visualizes concepts and design through sketches, wireframes and prototypes to validate product concepts with users, team members and stakeholders.
- Establishes buy-in and understanding of larger user experience design vision through presentation of artifacts (from studies to process flows)
- Experience creating and aligning to a design system. Building style guides, pattern libraries, and components to codify a product’s design language.
- Component library management, version control, and collaboration workflows in Figma.
- Ability to design components optimized for responsiveness, including mobile, tablet, and desktop variations.
- Strong understanding of component scalability. Design once, use everywhere.
- Plans, sets up, and executes on remote or in-person usability studies to identify usability issues and opportunities for improvements
- Develops experience maps to establish the direction of the user experience across customer’s touchpoints with a product
- Research current design and technology trends, cognitive psychology and human machine interaction
- Structure, organize and label information so that it is most meaningful to users
- Iterates on designs based on user feedback
- Advocates for human-centered design through evangelization and relationship-building
Preferred Skills/Experience – Optional but preferred skills/experience. Include:
- Strong Visual and Interaction Design skills.
- Basic knowledge of programing and working within complex data systems.
- Understand how coding or data/service limitations can affect the implementation or capabilities of a design.
- Experience leading a project and/or team. Strong leadership skills.
Education/Certifications – Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required
- Master’s degree in related field preferred
- Extensive Experience in the User Experience Design field can be used to substitute education.
