Mainframe Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Mainframe Developer in Jersey City, NJ.

Responsibilities:
* Mainframe Developer will provide daily support, ad-hoc requests, and system maintenance
* Analyze requirements, design technical specs, and develop code for business applications
* Develop, test, debug, and implement solutions; Ensure documentation for all projects
* Lead projects or assignments with minimal supervision; Manage scope and timelines
* Collaborate with business users to translate requirements into functional specs
* As a Mainframe Developer, you will participate in QA, implementation, and incident management for supported applications
* Strong understanding of full project life cycle; Able to work independently in dynamic environments

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
* Experience coding and debugging Mainframe Platforms
* Strong hands-on knowledge of COBOL SQL coding, CICS, debugging and utilities
* Strong knowledge of CA-Scheduler, and IBM utilities
* Knowledge of MQSeries coding in both the batch and CICS environments
* JCL/PROC, VSAM, SYNCSORT and file-based interfaces
* CICS coding, performance/tuning/design concepts, debugging and utilities
* Strong Relational Database skills: DB2/ SQL and file-based interfaces
* Proficient with Xpediter, Intertest and other mainframe tools
* Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, VISIO
* Knowledge of XML a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
